My Very 1st Challenge!

I came across this blog that was challenging people to use their scraps and send in a photo of what they create.  I have so many scraps that I probably should never have to buy paper again, ever!  But like most scrapaholics I see the stuff in the stores and ooooh and aaaaaah over it all and buy it.  I started off scrapbooking and had so many gorgeous pieces of paper left over that I couldn't bear to throw them out.  Cardmaking was born because of that.  (It has become my passion BTW.)  I still used to have scraps left over from the cardmaking and kept putting them aside.  With this challenge I think I found the ultimate way to use up the teeny tiny bits of paper and lace and ribbon.  I made several gift cards from the stuff in my bins.  They are mostly 2 x 2 or 3 x 3 size.  Just big enough to slip onto a gift box or put a hole in the top corner and put a pretty ribbon so it can be tied to a gift bag.  Wish me luck.  Oh and here's the link in case anyone else would like to check it out.  (I hope I do this right.)

Thank you! The little gift cards went together rather quickly because most of the stuff was already cut and just needed to be trimmed and put in place. Whenever I make something and have a little piece left over I usually punch it and put it aside. Then it's just a matter of playing around with different pieces to see what I like, glue it and you're done! The only problem is that with the amount of scraps I have, I will have enough gift tags to last me, my kids and my future grandkids to last a lifetime! Oh well. Thanks again for your comments, I truly do appreciate them!

Awesome! Great idea to punch out a circle or scallop square or ovals when you have a small piece of paper left over. I should do that too. I have oodles & oodles of scrap paper.

I totally hear you about seeing something you love and buying it even though you already have tons... NOT that I would know about that... hehe!

I find that it's a great thing to do when I'm not feeling very creative. I use that time to get supplies ready and it seems to work out very well!

I swear that I'm addicted to pretty paper! LOL. I buy some to use and some to hoard!

Thanks Abbey! I just recently started to feel confident enough that I've decided to start entering challenges! You're welcome for the scraps idea....they are so quick to make when using bits and pieces that have already been cut.

Hi Marianne, welcome to the Snippets Playground :)

What a lovely hoard of snippets cards, they're all absolutely gorgeous. One in particular really popped out at me - in the second photo there's a wreath made of Autumn colour leaves, it's beautiful!

You get two goes on the swings for linking in such a great set of cards, hope to see you again!

Lovely selection of cards. I especially like the pink and blue one with the birds on. Welcome to the playground. We are having a bonfire later on with jacket potatoes in the embers. Hugs Mrs A.

Morning Marianne . . . welcome to the Snippets Playground. Mrs A's having a party . . . OMG . . . I didn't realise it was involving a bonfire! Better clear up any evidence before Di gets back from "teacher training".

Love your selection of snippety cards.

Gorgeous selection of cards there Marianne and welcome to the Playground. I hope we didn't scare you with the bonfire but let it be known I did not want anything to do with it! Don't like fireworks!

Thanks Samantha! No you didn't scare me off...I don't scare that easily. I do admit that was feeling a bit dense though because I wasn't quite sure what Mrs. A was referring to and just assumed it was an inside joke.
